Lisa Helps Student Fill out FAFSA

Student Support Services offer members academic advisement in a wide variety of areas. New participants will be scheduled an intake evaluation with one of the program academic advisors who will evaluate the student's needs in these three areas:

  • Academic
  • Career
  • Personal

Student Support Services academic advisors will advise students about selecting classes, enroll students in appropriate classes, information on applying for financial assistance, setting academic goals, identifying career options, utilizing special services such as the Student Support Services tutoring services, and referrals on campus and in the community.

Meet Gilbert & Lisa: SSS Academic Advisors

Gilbert DosterGilbert Doster 

Gilbert is a second generation Cameron graduate and a proud Aggie Alumni. He attended Lawton Public Schools and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1981. He pursued a career in sales for 22 years before returning to Lawton to pursue a degree in Psychology. Gilbert graduated Magna Cum Laude, Top 10 Student, and Phi Kappa Phi at age 50. Gilbert is excited to be a part of the SSS team because it gives him an opportunity to work with others that want to fulfill their educational goals. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Behavioral Science. After receiving his degree, Gilbert plans on continuing to advise and teach as an adjunct instructor. 

Lisa Jones

Lisa Jones 

Lisa was raised in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She graduated in 1990 from Tecumseh High School. She received an Associate in Science degree from Seminole State College in 1994 Lisa is a proud Aggie Alumni graduating from Cameron University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Human Ecology and a minor in Sociology. She will finish her Master of Human Relations in May from the University of Oklahoma. Lisa is passionate about TRiO. She has worked since 2008 with first generation, low income, and disabled students. Her future plans are to continue watching students succeed in obtaining their college degree.  Lisa is married to Gary and the mother to four children: Jordan 22, Morgan 18, Jaden 11, and Justin 10. She attends Grace Fellowship in Lawton. Lisa enjoys spending her spare time with her family. From the racetrack to the ball field to the stock shows, Lisa is a proud mom. She has lived in the Lawton area since 2003 and has plans to retire here. Lisa likes to read, garden, camp, and take walks when she has spare time. Her favorite quote is “Someone can’t do everything, but everyone can do something. “
