Computer Facilities and Services
Computer Lab
TRIO offers a full-service computer lab, available and open to current participants in the TRIO programs hosted by Cameron University: Student Support Services, McNair Scholars, Upward Bound, and Open Doors. The lab provides a quieter and less crowded environment in which students can study, research, learn, and practice computer skills. The computer stations in the lab have full access to Cameron University's online tools and services, as well as current up-to-date software. Our TRIO Technology Specialist, Laura Wray, is also a highly qualified lab supervisor available to assist with any technology-related query or issue.
The TRIO Computer Lab is comprised of 12 Dell PC's running Microsoft Windows XP. Software available for use includes Adobe Reader and Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word). Students also have access to a laser printer and a scanner for academic use.
Laptop Loan Program
Students of the McNair Scholars and Student Support Services programs who do not own their own computers are eligible to participate in our Laptop Loan Program. After taking part in a brief orientation on laptop use, students may check out a laptop for a two-week period. This innovative program is helping students progress further into success in college. For further information, contact TRIO Technology Specialist, Laura Wray, via e-mail at lwray@cameron.edu or by phone on (580) 581-5513.

In addition, workshops are offered each semester on topics such as word processing, using PowerPoint, working in spreadsheets, web page design, using digital photography, purchasing a computer, and using student online services such as MyCU and Blackboard. Check the SSS Calendar and McNair Calendar for workshop dates and times.
