Graduation
Each candidate for an undergraduate degree must file a graduation application with the Registrar's Office the semester before he/she expects to graduate. To file an application for graduation, the student must take an updated copy of the degree plan, prepared and signed by the faculty advisor, to the Registrar's Office and apply for graduation. Students are encourage to obtain a degree checksheet from their department prior to their scheduled semester of graduation. The student's "official" degree check will be mailed to the local address given at time of application.
The graduation fee of $15 must be paid to the cashier before the graduation application is processed.
Commencement is conducted in May of each year. All undergraduate students who have completed graduation requirements the prior December, or who expect to complete graduation requirements in May or July are eligible to participate. Information on caps, gowns and announcements will be sent to graduates by the Cameron University Bookstore in March. In April, the Registrar's Office will send a Graduation Times Newsletter to graduates with information on the commencement exercise.
At the end of each semester an audit of each degree check is conducted and if all requirements have been completed, a degree is awarded. If the audit shows deficiencies in completing degree requirements, a letter is sent to the student identifying the deficiencies.
