Lewis Ridgeway Scholarship
Each year the chapter offers one scholarship to a Phi Kappa Phi student member who exhibits outstanding qualities and will be returning to Cameron University in the fall. 

Nicky Ayers Scholarship
Each year the chapter offers one scholarship to a Phi Kappa Phi student member who exhibits outstanding qualities and will be returning to Cameron University in the fall.

Qualifications for the Ridgeway and Ayers Scholarships:

  • Be a member of Phi Kappa Phi, or
  • Be scheduled for initiation into the chapter at the Spring Initiation.
  • Must plan to enroll as a student for the Fall semester 
Applications: Application Forms must be accompanied by a copy of your transcript.

Qualified applicants can apply online.

Deadline: March 1 
 


Freshmen Honor Awards
Each year Chapter 174 offers up to 10 scholarships in the form of fee waivers to Cameron University students who exhibit an academically outstanding freshmen year, usually defined as having a 4.0 GPA while attending full-time.
 

National Fellowships
Fellowships in support of first-year graduate or professional study, normally undertaken within a year following receipt of the baccalaureate degree, are awarded by the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

The Awards:The number of Fellowships to be awarded annually is determined by the Board of Directors in accord with the funds available. Normally, 50 Fellowships are awarded each year. Awardees may accept Fellowships with the full $7,000 stipend, a reduced stipend - adjusted on the bases of other financial support, a $1,000 monetary award, or without stipend. In addition, normally 30 awards with stipends of $1,000 each are awarded as Honorable Mentions.

Cameron University may submit one fellowship nominee per year to the National Office. This nominee, even if not selected for a Fellowship, will receive Active-for-Life Membership in Phi Kappa Phi.

Requirements:

  • Recipients must be active members of Phi Kappa Phi on the date the awards are made. Applications will be accepted from individuals selected for membership in the Spring but have not yet been initiated.
  • Applicants must have applied to enroll as a candidate for an advanced degree in a graduate or professional school, preferable in an American college or university. In general, preference will be given to candidates with a definite purpose of pursuing a doctorate or other advanced professional degree.
Deadline: February 1
Interested individuals may print the online application on the PKP Nationals website. A completed application must include three letters of reference, all college transcripts, and result of graduate test (i.e. GRE) submitted in quintuplicate (original and four copies).
 
 

Internship and Study Abroad Support Programs
The Internship Support Grant is designed to support an undergraduate recipient as s/he seeks knowledge and experience in his/her academic field by working outside of the academic setting; while the Study Abroad Support Grant is designed to provide support to an undergraduate recipient as s/he seeks knowledge and experience through studies abroad. 

Award: National Phi Kappa Phi will award two $1,000 Study Abroad Support and two $1,000 Internship Support grants in each of Phi Kappa Phi's five regions.

Grant Criteria for Both Programs include:

  • The applicant must be enrolled and have a minimum academic grade point average of 3.5. You may be nominated by Cameron's Phi Kappa Phi chapter, or you may apply independently.
  • All applicants must have a minimum of 56 semester hours of academic credit but not more than 90 semester hours; as well as one full year remaining in his/her academic program after participating in the study abroad/internship.
  • Students applying for the Study Abroad Support Grant must be enrolled in an academic program at an accredited international institution during the study abroad period.
  • Those who are applying for the Internship Support Grant must be committed to an internship of at least 20 hours per week for a minimum of 6 weeks.
