Dear Club/Organization Advisors and Presidents
The purpose of the Organization of the Year Award is to recognize the most outstanding organizations on campus. The competition for the title of Organization of the Year is intense, considering the prestige of the award and monetary prizes for the top three organizations ($300 for 1st place, $200 for 2nd place, $100 for 3rd place). The winners will be recognized during the University Awards Ceremony on April 19, 2005.
We know that many of you are already involved on campus and in the Lawton-Ft. Sill community, and we encourage continued involvement in these endeavors. This year, we ask that you track your organization.s activities, including on campus involvement, community service, honors, awards, social activities, conferences, etc. Your Organization of the Year documentation will be due in the Office of Student Activities by March 31, 2005 for review by the University Awards Committee. I would suggest that you keep track of your activities in a file, scrapbook or notebook, and include photos, certificates, letters and summaries of your involvement.
Student Government involvement is very important, and I encourage you to select a representative from your organization. Meetings are held on Mondays at 5:15 p.m. in the Science Complex Goodyear Room.
Please let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to hearing from you. Again, thank you for your time and service. Student Activities Director
