Community Choir

The Cameron University/Lawton Civic Chorale has two regular concert seasons during the academic year. The first one beings on the last Sunday in October and culminates on the second Saturday in December (at Lawton's McMahon Auditorium) with a full scale performance of Handel's Messiah, complete with professional orchestra accompaniment. This event is co-sponsored by the Lawton Schubert Music Club and Fort Sill's New Post Chapel. The second session starts in January in a combined effort with the Cameron/Lawton Community Band to perform a concert in February. The repertoire for this concert is more diverse and spans several different choral styles. Rehearsals occur on Sunday afternoons from 2:00-4:00PM in the McCutcheon Recital Hall in the music building. Doris Lambert, adjunct professor of music, is the conductor of the Civic Chorale. For more information please contact Dr. Lambert at 580.581-2440 or via email.
