Contest for Students

You can earn $300 by entering the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Contest!

The Cameron Campus Ministry and Cameron University Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee invites Cameron students to submit art, poetry, or essays on the impact of Dr. King’s civil rights work. The focus should be Dr. King’s message and actions and the effect on their lives today.

Entries are being accepted in three categories: Art (including photography), Poetry, and Essay (Essays should be typed, 1000 to 1250 words). Awards will be given to the best overall representation.  Both a high school and a college winner will be chosen.  The winner will receive a $300 cash scholarship and will have the opportunity to present their work at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on January 16, 2012.

All entries are due by noon on December 1, 2011. Students may drop off a hard copy of their artwork, poetry or essay at Cameron Campus Ministry or send it via email to director@ccmcenter.org.
