High school seniors as well as current Cameron University students from Cotton and Tillman counties are encouraged to apply for Cameron University’s C. Glyn and Virginia C. Mitchell Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance with tuition, fees, and books to students from Cotton or Tillman counties who are pursuing an education at Cameron University. Student recipients will be able to maintain the scholarship through graduation, as long as they remain eligible. According to Albert Johnson Jr., Vice President for University Advancement, “This scholarship will create the opportunity for a student to complete a four-year degree at Cameron University and graduate with no debt,” says Albert Johnson, Jr., Vice President for University Advancement. “It is truly a life-changing opportunity”.

Incoming freshmen must first be admitted to Cameron University before gaining access to the Scholarship Portal. Applicants for the C. Glyn and Virginia C. Mitchell Endowed Scholarship must be a graduate of a high school located within Tillman County or Cotton County and must have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
Current CU students who are enrolled in a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester and who maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher in college level classwork are also eligible.
