“Salon de Cameron,” Cameron University senior art show, to open April 8 at Leslie Powell Gallery

The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will present “Salon de Cameron,” an art exhibit featuring the works of Cameron’s senior art majors. The show takes place at the Leslie Powell Gallery, 620 S.W. D Avenue. An opening reception is planned for Saturday, April 8 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and is open to the public at no charge. The exhibition will be on display through April 28.

The exhibition includes a variety of artworks in a wide range of media to include various oil paintings of different sizes; prints including linocuts, woodcuts, silkscreens, monotypes, and collage prints; watercolor paintings; small sculpture; graphic design works in digital media; mixed media artworks; and drawings in a wide range of media including graphite, charcoal, conte and pastel.

artwork called water is lifeartwork called who are youThese artworks include a diversity of subject matter as well.  Portraits of people and animals, imagery reflecting political views and environmental statements, fantasy work, landscapes, and abstract subject matter are all included.
