Cameron University Concert Band to offer invigorating performance

The Cameron University Concert Band will present a spring concert on Wednesday, March 1 in the Cameron University Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students, senior citizens and military. All Cameron University faculty, students and staff are admitted free with proper identification.  Tickets are available at the door. The Cameron University Concert Band, conducted by Dr. Jim Lambert, Professor of Music, is a student-based performance ensemble featuring woodwind, brass and percussion.

“Our student musicians have rehearsed diligently to prepare for this performance,” says Lambert. “The repertoire will inspire and invigorate the audience, and we hope everyone will come out and support our students’ musical efforts.”

The concert will consist of Gershwin's "Strike Up the Band” arranged by Leonard Moss, Malcolm Arnold’s “Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo” arranged by John Paynter, the timeless “Shenandoah” arranged by Claude T. Smith, Movement III from Holst’s “First Suite in Eb,” “Big Band Signatures” arranged by John Higgins, and John Philip Sousa’s “Pride of the Wolverines March.”
