Cameron sponsors Summer Food Service Program

Cameron University is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be to all eligible children, aged 18 and younger, free of charge. From May 31 to July 1, Upward Bound participant meals will be provided in the Cameron University cafeteria, located in Shepler Center at 2800 West Gore. Meals will be served Monday through Friday, as follows: Breakfast: 7:30 – 8:20 a.m.; Lunch: Noon -12:50; Supper, 5 – 5:50 p.m. Participants in Cameron’s Upward Bound program go home on Friday afternoon and return on Sunday evening. No meals are served on Saturdays or Sundays.

To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential or nonresidential camp, such as Cameron’s Upward Bound program, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced priced meals in the National School Lunch Program.

Children who are part of households that receive food stamps, benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) or an AFDS assistance unit are automatically eligible to receive free meals, subject to completion of the free/reduced application form.
