Community members invited to free self-employment conference

A community partnership including Cameron University’s Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and Emerging Technology (CETES) will present a Self-Employment Conference on Thursday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The conference will take place at Great Plains Technology Center (GPTC) in the auditorium of Building 100. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the opportunities that exist for self-employment and working from home, as well as to acquaint participants with the numerous resources available to assist them.

Presenting partners include the Economic Development Center at GPTC, U.S. Small Business Administration, Oklahoma Works and America’s Small Business Development Centers/Oklahoma. Sponsors include New York Life and Red Dirt Reloaded Bar and Grill.

Attendees will learn the ins and outs of self-employment and entrepreneurship. Local entrepreneurs/self-employed workers Katherine Wright, Tammie Ferguson, Tor Littau and Hossein Moini will share helpful tips, and local and national resources will be available on site to answer questions in this informational setting.
