Film by Cameron University professor selected for two film festivals

“My Girlfriend,” a short film by Cameron University’s Dejan Mraović, Assistant Professor of Art, continues to find success on the film festival circuit. The film was one of only 48 movies chosen as an Official Selection of the 8th Liverpool International Film Festival which took place in December, and has also been announced as an Official Selection for the 10th Annual Trail Dance Film Festival in Duncan. The Trail Dance screening is slated for Friday, January 29, in Chisholm Hall of the Simmons Center. “My Girlfriend” will be screened at 6:30 p.m.

In “My Girlfriend,” Mraović presents a story of great love in just 3 minutes and 24 seconds. The film tells its story of a great love through images and music alone, conveying that the course that love takes can leave us speechless for many reasons.

The film was shot in Lawton and other areas of Comanche county. Mraović stars in the film as well as serving as director, producer and screenwriter. Cameramen Austin Warren and Colton Warren also edited the production.

“My Girlfriend” is Mraović’s fourth short movie.
