Cameron University will kick off the Fall 2016 semester with a Back to School Block Party on Sunday, August 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Bentley Gardens. The fun-filled event will welcome students to campus with a variety of activities, promising something for everyone.
“The Back to School Block Party is a great opportunity for new and returning students to relax and have a fun-filled evening before classes start on Monday, August 15,” says Leslie Cothren, Director of Campus Life. “The event is a wonderful opportunity for students who are new to Cameron University to meet some of their fellow Aggies. For returning students – especially those who did not take summer classes – the block party is the ideal time to get back into the Aggie groove. All in all, the Back to School Block Party is a wonderful outlet to relieve some of the stress associated with returning to an academic setting and will be a fun time for all who attend.”
During the block party, students will enjoy hot dogs, snow cones, and popcorn, as well as outdoor games like badminton and basketball, a DJ, inflatables, prizes and more. Student organizations and campus departments will be on hand with interactive activities, and local businesses who participate in Cameron’s Paint the Town Black and Gold program have been invited to participate.
The Back to School Block Party is hosted by the Office of Campus Life, the Office of Student Housing, and Cameron University Athletics.
