Cameron University Department of Agriculture names Distinguished and Outstanding Students

The Cameron University Department of Agriculture recently named 38 agriculture majors as either Distinguished or Outstanding Students. Distinguished Students are those who maintain a GPA of at least 3.0; Outstanding Students are those who maintain a GPA of 3.5 or above.

“It is rewarding to recognize so many agriculture majors for academic achievement,” says Dr. Leon Fischer, Chair, CU Department of Agriculture. “Although the department is merging with biological sciences due to budget limitations, Cameron continues to offer agriculture degrees. With their academic excellence and outstanding campus and community engagement, our Distinguished and Outstanding Students have set the bar high for incoming agriculture majors.”

In addition, Curtsinger, Hampton, Lewis and Sarah Bishop, Walters, were announced as recipients of the Wesley and Mary Sue Silk Endowed Lectureship in Agricultural Science Award, which promotes the study of agricultural science.
