The Cameron University Student Wellness Center will present DeAnna Sanders, Director of She Is Safe, a non-profit organization that frees and empowers women and girls from suffering, abuse and exploitation in high risk and least-reached places around the globe, on Tuesday, January 27. The presentation will take place in the Wichita Room of the Shepler Center beginning at noon and is open to the public at no charge.
Sanders will present information about international trafficking, slavery and other global issues; abuse awareness and prevention; holistic approaches to helping victims of abuse; and how citizens can become part of the solution.
A resident of Duncan, Sanders is the organization’s country director for Indonesia. She travels to that country regularly to gather information, learn from ministry co-workers and share ways to effectively help women and girls who are most at risk for abuse and exploitation.
