Cameron’s 18th Annual Red River Expo prepares job seekers for success

Cameron University’s Office of Career Services presents the 18th Annual Red River Career Expo, an event which provides an opportunity for all students, military personnel and residents of southwest Oklahoma to meet with national, regional and local employers. A wide-range of career fields, including health care, telecommunications, marketing, engineering, information technology, sales and more, will be represented. The Red River Career Expo takes place on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. in the Aggie Rec Center. The event is open to the public at no charge.

“The Red River Career Expo is one of the largest job fairs in southwest Oklahoma, drawing as many as 1,000 job seekers each year,” says Paula Merrifield, Career Services Coordinator. “Cameron University is happy to provide this opportunity for community members as well as Cameron students to investigate career prospects. Approximately 80 local and regional businesses and federal contractors will be looking for employees during the event. There will also be representatives from numerous universities who will provide information on post-baccalaureate degree programs.”

Job seekers are advised to dress to impress, as they will have the opportunity to network, hand out resumes, and gather valuable information on different career options. In addition, members of Cameron’s Career Services staff are available to provide resume assistance and tips on getting the most out of a career fair.
