Cameron University invites alumni and friends to “Tune In” Homecoming 2015

graphic of homecoming logoCameron University alumni, friends and supporters will gather on the CU campus to “Tune In” to the university’s Homecoming 2015 celebration.  On Friday, February 20, and Saturday, February 21, alumni and visitors can experience a variety of Cameron homecoming traditions, including the Homecoming Chuck Wagon Cook-off and Tailgate Party, men’s and women’s basketball games, the sixth annual Aggie Family Fun Run/Walk, presentation of the annual Cameron University Alumni Association Awards and the annual Athletics Hall of Fame banquet. Homecoming activities kick off on Monday, February 16 with a variety of activities and events for CU students. Activities geared toward CU alumni and supporters are as follows:

Friday, February 20

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. |  Homecoming Hub (Welcome/Tours), McMahon Centennial Complex Lobby
A one-stop shop for campus tours, homecoming details and general information.

5:30 p.m. | Golf Cart Parade, Bentley Gardens
Experience homecoming excitement and enjoy a parade of golf cart floats designed by CU students as they make their way through campus and around Bentley Gardens.

5:30 p.m. | Athletics Hall of Fame Reception and Dinner, McCasland Ballroom, McMahon Centennial Complex

Celebrate the induction of the 2015 Class into the Cameron Athletics Hall of Fame, honoring some of Cameron’s greatest sports legends! Tickets are $30 per person and must be purchased in advance from the Office of Alumni Relations by calling 581-2988.

7 p.m. | Aggie G.OL.D. Happy Hour, Mike’s Sports Grille, 517 East Gore Boulevard
Join other Graduates of the Last Decade (2005-2015) for happy hour, a great time to reconnect with classmates and former students.

8 p.m. | CUAA Happy Hour, Mike’s Sports Grille, 517 East Gore Boulevard
New this year! Join us after the Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner and mix and mingle with Cameron alumni, former students, and community supporters. This come-and-go event will provide a great opportunity to reconnect, laugh, and reminisce about your Cameron days.

8:30 p.m. | Bonfire and Pep Rally, South of Cameron Village
Cameron’s campus will come aglow as alumni, students, community members, faculty and staff unite for a bonfire and pep rally. Cheer on the Aggie basketball teams and 2015 Homecoming King and Queen candidates.

Saturday, February 21

8 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Homecoming Hub (Welcome/Tours), McMahon Centennial Complex Lobby
A one-stop shop for campus tours, homecoming details and general information.

9 a.m. | Aggie Family Fun Run, McMahon Centennial Complex Lobby (registration)
Participants will start the morning with a quick run, jog or even a stroll across the Aggie Mile. Pre-register at http://www.cameron.edu/homecoming/aggie-fun-run.

10:30 a.m. | Army ROTC Reunion, Burch Hall
Join the George D. Keathley Department of Military Science for a reunion of former members of the Comanche Battalion, Cameron’s award-winning Army ROTC unit.

11 a.m. | Aggie Family Coffee, McMahon Centennial Complex Lobby
The Class of 1965, CUAA Award Winners, alumni and community members will gather for the Aggie Family Coffee, a great time to reconnect and remember CU memories.

Noon | Aggie Family & Friends Awards Lunch, McCasland Ballroom, McMahon Centennial Complex
The Aggie family comes together to present the Class of 1965 with their Golden Associate Medallions, followed by the presentation of the Cameron University Alumni Association Alumni Awards. Tickets are $15 per person and must be purchased in advance by calling the Office of Alumni Relations at 581-2988.

2 p.m. | Chuck Wagon Cook-off and Tailgate Party, adjacent to Aggie Gym

Experience one of Cameron’s most popular homecoming traditions! Meet up with old friends, tailgate, vote for your favorite chuck wagon, and prepare to cheer Aggie athletics to victory. Enjoy free food while it lasts. 

4 p.m. and 6 p.m. | Aggie Basketball vs. Angelo State, Aggie Gym
The Athletics Hall of Fame inductees will be presented during halftime of the women’s game. Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during halftime of the men’s game.
