Cameron University Civic Symphony performance to include Eisenhower High School Orchestra

The Cameron University Department of Music will present the Cameron University Civic Symphony, joined by the Eisenhower High School Orchestra, in concert on Tuesday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cameron University Theatre. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students/senior citizens/military. Cameron University faculty, staff and students are admitted at no charge with CU I.D. 

The program will feature senior music major Joey Kinsman, Lawton, performing Henry Purcell’s “Sonata for Trumpet and Strings.” 

Conducted by Dr. Kirsten Underwood, the Civic Symphony will begin the concert with a toccata by Frescobaldi, “Canon in D” by Pachelbel, the Purcell trumpet solo, and Alex North’s “Unchained Melody.”  This will be followed by the Eisenhower High School Orchestra, conducted by Laura Bolsen, performing Mozart’s “Overture to Lucio Silla” and “Air for Strings” by Norman Dello Joio.  The concert will conclude with the combined ensembles performing an arrangement of Wagner’s “Entrance and March of the Guests from Tannhäuser” and Soon Hee Newbold’s “Arabian Dreams,” conducted by Bolsen.
