Cameron University School of Business names 2014-15 Distinguished Graduates

The Cameron University School of Business has announced 2014-15 recipients of its Distinguished Graduate awards. Jennifer Goubeaux, Vienna, Va., and Timothy Sobukonla, Lagos, Nigeria, have been named as the honorees. Faculty members from the School of Business selected the two after reviewing the academic achievements of master’s candidates who completed degree requirements during Summer 2014, Fall 2014 or Spring 2015.

“Each year, Cameron’s School of Business attracts an outstanding roster of graduate students,” says Dr. John Camey, Dean, Cameron University School of Business. “This year’s Distinguished Graduates, Jennifer Goubeaux and Timothy Sobukonla, have set the bar high for those who wish to follow in their footsteps. They each completed their degree requirements with a 4.0 GPA and are now poised to make an impact in their respective communities in their chosen professions.”

A 21-year military spouse, Goubeaux became acquainted with Cameron when her husband was stationed at Fort Sill. She completed a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership. Now living in Vienna, Va., Goubeaux serves as Race Director, Vienna 5K. While living in the Lawton Fort Sill community, she was a senior family readiness group advisor for the 100th BSB at Fort Sill and also volunteered as a coach for the Elgin Soccer Club. Now that she has completed her degree, she plans to embark upon a career with a non-profit or a college or university.

Sobukonla arrived at Cameron ready to face the challenge of living in an environment much different from that of his native Nigeria. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2010 and has now completed a Master of Business Administration. He is a member of the Cameron University Nigerian Student Association and the Society for Human Resource Management. Sobukonla is a member of the U.S. Army, where he is an Automated Logistical Specialist.  Following completion of his tour of duty, he plans to attend medical school and subsequently open a medical practice using his business background. Sobukonla is an active volunteer for the Red Cross.

The Cameron University School of Business is accredited by ACBSP, the specialized accreditation association for business education which embraces teaching excellence.
