Cameron University debuts CU Welcome Center, Aggie Experience Tours

Cameron University has opened a new Welcome Center to assist prospective students, their families and campus guests. In addition to providing basic information on university programs and events, admission requirements, and financial assistance, the Welcome Center, staffed by a concierge who is fluent in Spanish, offers the all-new Aggie Experience Tours. Aggie Experience Tours are designed to give prospective students a taste of the Cameron University experience. To schedule an Aggie Experience Tour, sign up online at www.cameron.edu/visit or call 581-2987 for more information.

“One of the best ways for high school students to know what university best suits their academic needs and personal interests is a campus visit,” says “Aimee Plumb, Director, Prospective Student Services. “The Cameron campus is easy to navigate and offers a variety of amenities. We encourage high school students who are honing in on their university choice to experience what Cameron has to offer by signing up for the Aggie Experience Tour.”

Tours start at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from the Aggie Welcome Center, located in the Shepler Center at 3100 Dr. Elsie Hamm Drive. Guest parking spaces have been designated in the parking lot adjacent to the South Shepler Tower. Lasting approximately one hour, each tour includes visits to different buildings on campus, including a stop at the McMahon Center for a refreshing drink. At the conclusion of each tour, which is led by a current CU student, participants will receive an “I’m An Aggie” t-shirt and Frisbee and will have the opportunity to complete a round of disk golf.

“Even though it is impossible to provide a complete Cameron experience within the time-limit of a one-hour tour, prospective students will get a comprehensive look at what Cameron has to offer,” says Plumb. “Cameron’s commitment to offering a high quality education at an affordable cost is just one part of the overall Cameron collegiate experience. We look forward to hosting prospective students on campus so they can see for themselves why becoming a Cameron Aggie can be a life-changing choice.”
