photograph titled Abandoned AmericaBethany, an art major from Duncan, submitted three works, “Abandoned America,” “American Dreamer” and “American Beauty,” that are the result of a class assignment in the computer graphic design class taught by Dejan Mraovic, Assistant Professor of Art. All three were accepted for competition.

“In the images selected, I wanted to depict a consistent message about America, specifically Oklahoma,” Bethany says. “I am trying to display the intimate side of our American culture rather than the facade the world is so accustomed to seeing.”

Bethany has operated a professional photography business since 2006. Her works have been published in The New York Times, Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine, Running Times and numerous other national publications.

The exhibit is on display through February 15, 2015. It features original artwork from 226 artists from 45 countries.
