The Cameron University Alumni Association is sponsoring its first Community Service Day on Saturday, November 1, in Lawton, followed by an additional service day on Saturday, November 15, in Oklahoma City. The events provide opportunities for CU alumni to join together to make a difference in their communities. Participants can register online at http://www.cameron.edu/alumni/communityserviceday and can also initiate a service project that meets their own community needs.
“Service to the community is one of Cameron’s core values,” says Becky Holland, President, CUAA Board of Directors. “This is a chance for CU alumni to come together and give back to their respective communities while making new friends and having a great time in the process. We’re encouraging alumni to grab a Cameron t-shirt and a pair of work gloves to help take the celebrated Cameron service spirit to the streets.”
Registered volunteers will be notified of a specific work location as the date approaches. Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. each day.
Those wishing to initiate their own community service project can also do so online. CU’s Office of Alumni Affairs will attempt to notify other CU alumni in the area about the need for volunteers.
