Camaraderie, good cheer, good conversation and good food will reign when the CU@SC series returns with a Victorian Holiday Tea, hosted by Dr. Vivian Thomlinson, on Sunday, December 8 at 3 p.m. The special event is hosted by the Cameron University School of Liberal Arts and takes place at the Simmons Center’s Chisholm Hall. Admission is $10 and $5 for children. CU students, faculty and staff are admitted free with valid CU ID. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. To RSVP, call 580-581-2491.
The Victorian Holiday Tea will feature a traditional “high tea” with scones, clotted cream, crumpets, finger sandwiches and trifle. A selection of fine teas will be provided by Distinctive Décor of Duncan. Thomlinson will present a brief program focusing on the poetry of pre-Raphaelite writers Dante Rossetti, Christina Rossetti and William Morris, and Cameron staff member Barbara Pickthorn will provide seasonal music on cello. Also featured will be an assortment of Victorian-era apparel, courtesy of the Department of Theatre Arts.
CU@SC’s Holiday Victorian Tea is made possible by the Simmons Center Community Spirit Program.
