Cameron faculty members named to Top 20 lists of professors in Oklahoma

Cameron University faculty members Dr. Ronna Vanderslice, Kelly D. McClure and Dr. E. Ann Nalley have been recognized by StateStats.org and OnlineSchoolsOklahoma.com. The two sites sought to identify post-secondary educators who have been awarded recently for excellence in the classroom, on campus and/or in the community.

Vanderslice and McClure were named to the list of Top 20 Education Professors in Oklahoma, and Nalley was named to the list of Top 20 Women Professors in Oklahoma.

photo of Ronna VandersliceVanderslice, Dean of the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences and McCasland Foundation Endowed Chair in Educational Leadership, joined the Cameron faculty as Project Director for the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) in June 2006. She was named Dean of the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences in July 2007. She has served as the Board Chair of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services since 2010. Additional service includes appointment to the Teacher Competency Review Panel by the State Department of Education and the Oklahoma State Regents Minority Teacher Recruitment Center Advisory Committee. She is the recipient of the 2010 Jane Morse Service Award from the Oklahoma Association of Colleges for Teacher Preparation.

Photo of Kelly McClureMcClure, an instructor in the Department of Education, joined the Cameron faculty in 2004 and teaches courses relevant to the use of technology in education. In 2012, he received Cameron’s Award for Excellence and Innovation in Instructional Technology Integration, which recognizes outstanding and sustained contributions in the use of instructional technology to increase student learning. He is a two-time recipient of the Tuck and Anna Pittman Endowed Lectureship for Technology Education as well as the Herb and Dorothy Pittman Carter Endowed Lectureship in Education. McClure is a member of the Oklahoma Technology Association, Educause and the International Society for Technology in Education.

photo of Ann NalleyNalley, Professor of Chemistry and Clarence E. Page Endowed Chair in Math and Science Education, has served the students of Cameron University for more than 40 years. Earlier this year, she was named a Fellow of the DaVinci Institute and also received Cameron’s Partner of Choice Award. In December 2012, she was named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She is also the recipient of Cameron’s highest service honor, the Distinguished Service Award, and was inducted into the Cameron University Alumni Association’s Faculty Hall of Fame in 1996 and into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 2010. In 2009, she was elected as a Fellow of the American Chemical Society. In 1999, Nalley was named the Oklahoma Education Association Higher Education Science Teacher of the Year.
