The Cameron University Concert Choir and the Cameron University Centennial Singers will host the Frederick High School Concert Choir in a combined concert on Tuesday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cameron University Theatre. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students/senior citizens. Cameron students, faculty and staff are admitted at no charge.
The Cameron University Concert Choir is conducted by Dr. Earl Logan, Associate Professor of Music, and the Cameron Centennial Singers are conducted by Doris Lambert, adjunct instructor. Cameron alumna Carissa Schreiner directs the Frederick High School Concert Choir.
The Cameron University Concert Choir will be accompanied on piano by Yiuka Chan Spannagel. Compositions to be performed include "Set Me as a Seal" by Rene Claussen, "Make Our Garden Grow" by Bernstein, "Nessun dorma" by Verdi featuring Jarod Grice, Frederick, as tenor soloist, and "Jesus Saves" by Cottrell.
The Cameron University Centennial Singers perform “Voice Dance III” by Jasperse, “Esto Les Digo” by Lange featuring soloist Melinda Taylor of Lawton, “Muddy Water” arranged by Michele Weir featuring soloist Jordan Brickhouse of Altus, “Long Ago and Far Away” by Gershwin and arranged by Mark Hayes, featuring soloist Anjelika Ramsdell of Lawton. The Centennial Singers will conclude their portion of the concert with Irving Berlin’s “I Love a Piano”, arranged by Jerome Kern and featuring vocalist Melissa Delgado of Lawton and pianist Jiha Choi, Cache. The Centennial Singers are accompanied by Kristina Henckel on piano.
Delgado, Ramsdell and Brielle Capps of Lawton will also perform solo arias. The concert will include an appearance by the Cameron Alumni Chorus performing Beethoven’s Hallelujah from his “Mount of Olives.”
