Cameron University students who received a Pell Grant in the fall and spring semester could be eligible to receive additional assistance through the Federal Pell Grant program. Passage of the continuing resolution to fund the federal government for the remainder of FY2011 included a provision for the awarding of additional one-time funds for Summer 2011.
Most eligible students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours for Summer 2011 in order to receive Pell and/or other federal financial aid. However, students who were enrolled part time or for only one semester during Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 could be eligible for a summer Pell Grant if enrolled in fewer than six hours for Summer 2011.
Summer 2011 Pell grants range from $277 to $2775, depending upon the number of hours enrolled in and the student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which is based on a formula established by the federal government.
To be evaluated for summer Pell Grants, Cameron students should complete the Summer Assistance Application, available in the Office of Financial Assistance, North Shepler, Third Floor, or on the Cameron website at http://www.cameron.edu/financial_aid/forms.html. Completed forms can be faxed to 580-581-2556 or scanned and submitted via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
