The Cameron University Department of Music presents guest pianist Kristina Henckel in a solo recital on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the McCutcheon Recital Hall. Admission is free.
Henckel, an adjunct instructor who teaches Music Appreciation and accompanies the Cameron University Centennial Singers, will perform Beethoven's "Piano Sonata in E Minor, opus 90," Liszt's "Transcendental Study Number 11" (subtitled "Harmonies de soir"), Verdi/Liszt's "Rigoletto-Paraphrase," Leoš Janáček’s “1905 Piano Sonata”, and Liszt’s “Rhapsodie Espagnole.”
A native of the Czech Republic, Henckel has performed numerous solo and collaborative recitals in Europe and United States. She has also made several recordings for Radio Vltava, Czech Republic, and Radio Bern, Switzerland. Henckel is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma.
