Lawton's Eisenhower High School and Plainview High School earned the top prizes in their respective divisions at the 32nd Annual Cameron University Interscholastic Contest. Eisenhower High School won the Sweepstakes Award for Type I schools, and Plainview claimed the Sweepstakes Award for Type II schools. Type I schools consist of those in Class 5A and Class 4A, and Type II is comprised of those classified as 3A, 2A, A and B, per the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Assn. Hundreds of students from 21 area schools competed in 52 different academic events ranging from accounting and biology to woodwind instruments and world history. 

The Eisenhower Eagles continued to dominate the Type I class, claiming the top prize for the 13^th consecutive year. Cache High School finished second, followed by Chickasha High School in third place.

Plainview High School claimed the top spot in Type II, followed by Lindsay High School and Elgin High School.

School scores were tabulated according to their placement in individual events, ranging from eight points for a first place finish to one point for fifth..
