CU professor celebrates publication of first book of poems with reading and book signing

Noise and Stories by Dr. JOhn MorrisCameron University's Dr. John Morris, Professor of English, will celebrate the publication of his first book of poetry, "Noise and Stories," with a reading from the volume on Friday, December 5 at 7 p.m. The reading will be hosted by the Leslie Powell Gallery at 620 SW D Avenue in Lawton. Following the reading, Morris will sign copies of "Noise and Stories," which will be available for purchase.

"This is a lovely work," says award-winning novelist Rilla Askew, author of "Fire In Beulah" and "Harpsong." "John Morris is a poet of great versatility, sensitivity, and perception. He takes a moment from our lives, crystallizes it into forever."

"Noise and Stories" was published by Plain View Press in early November. Morris has previously published his poems in journals such as the Chariton Review, Westview, Blood and Thunder, the Concho River Review, and others.
