CU’s Magic Lantern Film Society to be featured on OETA Movie Club

Cameron University's Magic Lantern Film Society will be featured during the Celebrity Photo segment of OETA's Movie Club on Saturday, October 25 when host B.J. Wexler airs a series of photographs depicting the society's first meeting and film offering of the semester.  In the photos, the society's student officers and faculty advisors, Upward Bound students and other audience members pose with cardboard cutouts of Humphrey Bogart and Marilyn Monroe, thus earning "celebrity" status for the segment, which will air at approximately 9:30 p.m. and will be repeated on Friday, October 31 at approximately 11:30 p.m.

The Magic Lantern Film Society, currently in its 27th season, is an official Cameron University student organization. Officers are President Lauren Bennett, a senior Communication major from Lawton, and Vice President Nadja Campbell, a junior Physical Science major from Lawton. Dr. John G. Morris, Professor of English, and Sherry Ann Newell, Professor Emerita of English, serve as faculty advisors. For a schedule of Magic Lantern's film offerings, go to or contact Morris at 581-2329. Screenings are open to the public at no charge, although donations to the Magic Lantern Film Society are accepted.
