Cameron University student Lauren Bennett, a senior from Lawton, has been designated as a Brad Henry International Scholar and selected to participate in an international study program at Swansea University in Wales. The Brad Henry International Scholars program was established by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education in June. Bennett is among the second group of recipients selected for the $10,000 program award. She will spend the Spring 2009 semester at Swansea University in Swansea, Wales.

"This is a profoundly important scholarship program for students at the regional universities," says Dr. Von Underwood, CU Dean of the School of Liberal Arts. "Lauren Bennett is an exemplary student and an ideal choice for the program. She will serve Cameron and Oklahoma well as a kind of ambassador for us all and is very well prepared to make the most of the experience of studying abroad."
Presidential Leaders and University Scholars (PLUS). Participants in the PLUS scholarship program are selected for their excellence in academics, leadership, involvement and community service. Additionally, Bennett has been a programming intern at the Cameron Campus Ministry, and a Ropes Course (a program that teaches self-confidence and teamwork using an aerial obstacle course) facilitator in the Wichita Mountains near Lawton.
