Welcome to the Cameron University McNair Scholars Program
Our goal is to help program participants pursue graduate education goals. The program is an interdisciplinary one that provides academic advisement, mentoring, and undergraduate research opportunities. Scholars travel to research conferences to present papers, attend cultural events and participate in academic enrichment events.
The McNair Scholars Program prepares first generation undergraduate college students who meet specific federal low-income guidelines, and students recognized by the federal government as being underrepresented in higher education for graduate study at the doctoral level.
Each year, McNair Scholars participate in academic year and summer activities that include preparation for choosing a graduate school, understanding the graduate school application process, studying for the Graduate Records Examination, and conducting academic research.
