Two Authors' Readings
University’s Lectures and Concerts Committee and the Department of English and Foreign Languages hosted two authors’ readings in the library on February 22, 2008. First, Kathe Lison entertained faculty and students with readings from her humorous essays on cheese—from personal experimentation in her refrigerator to personal purchases across Europe. The second author, Christopher Cokinos, pleased the audience with samples of his work which combined poetry and science. He created much interest by showing an actual meteorite which he found in Antarctica. Thus, the library’s Reading Room, with its many shelves of recently acquired materials provided an excellent backdrop for these award-winning authors.
