Jazz Exhibit

Oklahoma Southwest Jazz

In honor of Jazz Appreciation Month, the Cameron University Library hosted "Oklahoma: All That Southwest Jazz" exhibit from the Oklahoma Museum Association throughout the month of April. This exhibit consisted of narrative text and historic photographs tracing Oklahoma blues lineage from Count Basie, who began his climb to stardom from the Oklahoma Blue Devils, to Yale native Chet Baker's contribution to the art form. In addition to the exhibit, the librarians created a kiosk which provided continuous looping of music from the Oklahoma jazz website. This exhibit was made possible through a grant from the Cameron University Lectures and Concerts program.
