The resources listed on the Cameron University Library's web page include information regarding library services and resources, interlibrary loan forms, and links to scholarly electronic information sources. Some are Internet sites that can be freely accessed by simply clicking on the link. Others are Cameron Library resources (such as the CU Library Catalog) that are freely available to anyone. However, the databases linked from these pages are restricted to Cameron students, faculty, and staff by licensing agreements and require user name and password.

  • Access the CU Library homepage.   
  • Click on Citation and Full-Text Databases - Off Campus
  • Choose a specific database
  • For username, enter first initial of your first name, first initial of your last name, and last 6 digits of your Student ID.
  • For password, enter first initial of your first name, first initial of your last name, last 5 digits of your Social Security Number. 



Databases:

FirstSearch Databases provide a comprehensive, world-wide shared library catalog of books, periodicals and other materials and several periodical article indexes. Many databases indicate items that are owned by Cameron Library. The service includes:

WorldCat - library catalog records for 37,000,000 books and other materials in libraries worldwide.

ERIC - indexing and abstracts for journal articles, books, theses, curricula, conference papers, standards, guidelines and reports in education from 1966 to the present.

General Science Abstracts - indexing and abstracts for journals and magazines covering the sciences from 1984 to the present. (Abstracts begin in 1993.)

Humanities Abstracts - indexing and abstracts for periodicals in archaeology, art, classics, film, folklore, journalism, linguistics, music, the performing arts, philosophy, religion, history, and literature from 1984 to the present. (Abstracts begin in 1994.)

MEDLINE - indexing and abstracts for journals published internationally, covering all areas of medicine from 1965 to the present.

Readers' Guide Abstracts - indexing and abstracts of popular magazines on current events and news from 1983 to the present. (Abstracts begin in 1984.)

Social Science Abstracts - indexing and abstracts for journals in sociology, anthropology, law geography, economics, political science, from 1983 to the present. (Abstracts begin in 1994.)

WilsonSelect Plus - full-text articles in science, education and business

Specialized Databases include Agricola, Art Index, BasicBIOSIS, and others. CU students and staff may access these databases with authorization numbers. Call reference librarian for these numbers. 

EBSCOHost provides indexes, abstracts and full-text articles from magazines, scholarly journals & reference books. CU students, faculty and staff may access EBSCOHost from off campus by entering first initial first name, first initial of last name, last 6 digits Student ID number. For the password enter first initial first name, first initial last name, and last 5 digits of your Social Security Number.

Academic Search Premier - full-text articles from academic, social science, humanities, general science, and education from 1990 to the present and indexing and abstracts from 1984-present.

Biological Abstracts - bibliographic references with abstracts from life sciences research journals.

Books in Print w/Reviews - more than 2.5 million titles and 500,000 reviews.

Business Source Premier- full-text articles from business, management, economics, finance, banking, accounting and abstracting and indexing as far back as 1965.

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition - nearly 520 full-text journals focusing on many medical disciplines and abstracts and indexing for over 550 journals.

Health Source: Consumer Edition - authoritative health-related information. Provides full-text articles as well as abstracts and indexing.

Comp MEDLINE w/MeSH - indexing and abstracting for journals covering all aspects of medicine.

Professional Development Collection - full-text journals and abstract and index coverage for professional educators.

ERIC - indexing and abstracts of education sources from 1967 to the present.

Newspaper Source - full text of 174 newspaper sources, including the Christian Science Monitor and the Los Angeles Times 

MasterFILE Premier - full-text of 1,860 general reference, business, consumer health, and general science periodicals from 1990-present and indexing and abstracts from 1984-present.

Mas Ultra - full-text from periodicals covering general reference, 5,000 Magill Book Reviews, and other areas from 1990 to the present and indexing and abstract backfiles from 1984-present.

Middle Search Plus - full-text and indexing and abstracts designed for middle school uses.

Primary Search - full-text and indexing and abstracts from children's magazines.

PsycINFO 1887- indexing and abstracts or journal articles, chapters, books, dissertations and reports on psychology and related fields from 1887 to the present.

Military Full-Text - Designed to offer current news pertaining to all branches of the military

Ebsco Animals - in-depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals.


Other Databases:

American Chemical Society Publications - On-campus only access to the full-text of American Chemical Society publications. Available without the use of a password.

Britannica - full-text of this classic encyclopedia and links to recommended web pages on the subjects covered. It is available from any Cameron Internet computer. Cameron University students and staff may also access off campus using Cameron e-mail user name and password.

Mergent Online - information found in the printed Moody (now Mergent Manuals). CU students and staff may access from off campus with Cameron e-mail user name and password.

Literature Resource Center - access to biographies and criticism of more than 120,000 authors from every age and discipline. CU Students and staff may access off-campus with e-mail user mail.

MLA International Bibliography - indexing for journal articles dating back to 1963 and including literature, language, folklore, dramatic arts. (Selected full-text) CU students and staff may access from off-campus using Cameron e-mail user name and password.

Online Newspapers - the Daily Oklahoman (1982 to the present), the Tulsa World (1989 to the present) and a database of selected articles from other newspapers called NewsBank (1991 to the present). CU faculty, students and staff may access off campus with Cameron e-mail user name and password.

Kids Edition - designed for elementary school students. CU staff and students may access off-campus with Cameron e-mail user name and password.
