American FactFinder A portal to statistical information about the U.S. population, such as economic conditions, housing, maps, etc.
FedStats A portal to federally created statistics about a wide variety of topics.
U.S. Census Bureau Includes the population information for the U.S.
Statistical Abstracts of the United States Comprehensive statistics covering a wide range of topics including crime, economics, family, marriage, causes of death, etc.  
USA Counties Comprehensive statistics featuring over 6,500 counties and detailing multiple topics from general information--including population, education, income, crime, etc.--to more specialized information--including water usage, building permits, wholesale trade, etc.
Maps A portal to maps covering various topics, such as national parks, state and county maps, etc.
ChildStats A portal to statistics about children and families.
Bureau of Justice Statistics A portal to statistics about crime and related topics in the U.S.
DATA.gov A portal containing statistics over a variety of subjects.
