Printing a Microsoft Word document from the Internet

From time to time, students may need to print a copy of online Microsoft Word documents, as often seen in Blackboard.  Usually, these documents are opened within Internet Explorer, once you have clicked the link to open the document. 

When attempting to print, Internet Explorer's print options will not print the document.  As can be seen in the image below, the regular Microsoft Word print icon is also not shown:

To print the Microsoft Word document from the web, you will need to make the Standard Microsoft Toolbar to appear.  As the document is loaded (as shown above), usually the Reviewing toolbar (with the text that states Final Showing Markup) loads also.  Using the mouse pointer, right click on the gray area NEXT to the toolbar (not on it).  As you do so, a pop-up menu will appear:

Click on the option that says Standard.  This will add the Standard Microsoft Word toolbar to your display, as shown below:

As can be seen, this Standard Toolbar allows you to print the document, as well as save a copy of it to your disk. 

To print the document click the print icon:
