Selecting the Database Best Suited to Your Topic

Selecting Databases by Topic to Find Periodical Articles
At the Cameron University Library home page, go to the Citation and Full Text Databases.  If you are at Cameron, select On CampusSelect Off Campus if you are not at Cameron.  Click on a database name.  If you are Off Campus, you must enter your CU login and password.  Off campus database use is restricted to current CU students, faculty and staff.

CU Login and Password - use lowercase letters
Student login (username) = First initial of first name, first initial of last name, and last 6 digits of Student ID #.
Student password = First initial of first name, first initial of last name, and last 5 digits of Social Security #.

Think about what topics apply to your thesis statement and use the databases listed under that topic.

For example, obesity and children can be narrowed down by focusing on: schools (education); health/surgeries (medical); new developments (science); or community & psychology (social sciences).  General databases (e.g. Wilson Select Plus and MasterFILE Premier) are very broad in coverage and can support the more focused databases.
