ABOUT CUIC EVENTS
Every semester CUIC organizes and is involved in a number of interesting activities to entertain both members and non-members. Events such as Country Presentations, Lawton International Festival, Cultural Showcase, Diversity Week, Bake Sale, Special Outdoor Activities (SOC) and more are designed to provide a forum for discussions of cultural diversity and encourage the study of different cultures. So, whether you are from Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, Middle East, Central, North or South America, there is something to keep you entertained and coming back for more!
Below is a list and short description of events/activities taking place this semester (Fall '06):
•
The purpose of a Bake Sale is to generate funds for the International Club to financially sponsor its variety of events and projects. During a Bake Sale event, the International Club with help from its members provides a variety of snacks and drinks for sale to faculty and students on campus.
•
During Country Presenations (which is organized by CUIC), International Students get a chance to proudly showcase their various cultures to the club. This opportunity is used to enlighten fellow club members on what makes their country and culture great. This can be done in a variety of ways including visual presentation, speech, dance, drama, prose, food, and more!
•
Cultural Showcase at Cameron is organized by the Student Development. Various social clubs on campus get a chance to showcase their uniqueness by performing live and direct before faculty and students of Cameron. It makes for great viewing and social pleasure.
