Where and When to AssembleThe hooding ceremony activities will begin at 5:00 p.m. All graduate faculty should assemble along the east wall of the Studio Theatre no later than 4:45 p.m. A sign will designate the appropriate area to assemble in the Studio Theatre. Ceremony Assistants will direct individuals to the appropriate assembly area. Please accept the Ceremony Assistants' direction. These assistants will be wearing distinctive badges. <<BACK TO TOP>>
The ProcessionalUpon the President's approval, the Processional will begin at 5:00 p.m. President Ross will conduct members of the platform party to the stage. Graduate students being honored as well as members of the graduate faculty and staff will process from the Studio Theatre through the entrances in the back of the auditorium. Graduate faculty that have agreed to hood specific students will assemble with those students and enter with students through the auditorium. <<BACK TO TOP>>
Presentation of HoodsThe Graduate Advisor or specified graduate faculty for each degree will lead the hood recipients across the platform. The Graduate Advisors will first present a card identifying the academic major to the reader at the microphone, and then conduct the candidates across the platform to receive their hoods. The Vice President for Academic Affairs will read the name cards. Ms. Linda Phillips will assist the reader. <<BACK TO TOP>>
The RecessionalAt the conclusion of the ceremony, the President will dismiss participants. As the recessional music is played, the platform party and graduate faculty will depart the stage and proceed to the Theatre Lobby. The graduate advisors and hood recipients will then follow to the lobby. All are then free to attend the Commencement Ceremony. <<BACK TO TOP>>
