Getting the Most Out of Academic Advising

  • Schedule an appointment. To provide the best, most complete and accurate academic advising, we work with students on an appointment basis. This scheduled time gives your Advisor the opportunity to review your transcript, current course schedule, degree plan and current academic progress. Taking all these factors into account, we are able to help you make the best decisions for your upcoming semesters.
    Schedule an advising appointment.
  • Get to know your Academic Advisor. Your advisor is your advocate, someone who works to help make your time at Cameron University friendly and trouble-free. The better your advisor knows you, the better he/she can help you get the most out of your educational experience.
  • Ask questions! Advisors are here to answer questions as you have them. University policies can be complex, difficult to understand and hard to find. Advisors know most of them already and know best how to use information resources to get you the best answer.
  • Be active in your academic advising. Be prompt and prepared for your advising appointment.
