Student Email

Every student enrolled at Cameron University is issued a Cameron University Student Email account. This University issued email account will be the address used when official University communication is sent via email. In some cases, a university employee may also be a student. In these cases, official email may also be sent to the employee email account issued by the university. These students are responsible for content in both accounts.
Students are expected to check their University email account frequently (3 to 4 times per week) in order to stay current with University-related communications, particularly those that may be time sensitive in nature. Similarly, students will be held responsible for the information that is transmitted to this account.

WHERE DO I LOGIN FOR EMAIL?

  • From the university homepage - click on email on the upper right hand corner directly under the search bar. Then click on student email on the next page.
  • From within AggieAccess – click on the Gmail icon in the upper right hand corner.
  • Or you may go directly to gmail.cameron.edu.

EMAIL USERNAME AND PASSWORD
To log in to your email please use your Username not your email address.


Username
First initial of your first name, first initial of last name and last six digits of student ID Number.


Password
Password you created on AggiePass - aggiepass.cameron.edu

WHAT IS MY EMAIL ADDRESS?
Typically your email address will be your firstname.lastname@cameron.edu. However, in rare cases another student has the same name and that address is already taken. When that occurs subsequent email addresses have a digit added after the last name. For Example: firstname.lastname2@cameron.edu


To see your email address

  • Login to AggieAccess.
    • Click on the “My Info” tab.
    • In the center column under “My Personal Info” click on “Update E-mail Addresses”. Your email address is listed under “CU Student Email”.

  • Login to your Student Email account
  • Click on the gear icon at the upper right hand corner.
  • Choose “Settings”.
  • Click on “Accounts and Import”.
  • Your complete email address will be listed as the default Reply-to address. (The address that contains your initials and student ID number is your account address and should not be the default Reply-to address.)

WHY DO I SEE MY INITIALS+ID@CAMERON.EDU?
Your student email account has been set up so that you can login with the same account information you use for AggieAccess, CU Wifi, the various computer labs on campus and remote access to the library databases. Your initials+ID is actually the account name. However, since that is not what you would want other people to see or send email to, we created an alias that uses your firstname. lastname@cameron.edu. This alias has been set as your default reply-to address.

HOW DO I FORWARD MY STUDENT EMAIL TO ANOTHER ACCOUNT?

  • Login to your Student Email account
    • Click on the gear icon at the upper right hand corner.
    • Choose “Settings”.
    • Click on “Forwarding and POP/IMAP”.
    • Click Add a forwarding address.
    • Enter the email address of the other account.
    • Confirm the Forwarding Request. Log in to your other email account and look for an email from “Cameron University Team” with a subject similar to “Cameron University Forwarding Confirmation – Receive Mail from ……….” Open the email and click the link to complete the confirmation request.

After the forwarding email has been confirmed, you can select one of 4 forwarding options.

  • Keep Cameron University Mail’s copy in the Inbox (this is the default)
  • Mark Cameron University Mail’s copy as read
  • Archive Cameron University mail’s copy
  • Delete Cameron University mail’s copy

Make your decision and click “Save” at the bottom of the settings screen. The default setting allows you to login to your Cameron account at any time to quickly see just the emails that have been sent to your Cameron account. You’ve now make your life simpler. You can check one email address and still never miss an email from your instructor! Just think, that additional time frees you up to study more, attend a Cameron event, or maybe even spend more time with your friends!

HOW DO I SYNC MY EMAIL WITH MY MOBILE DEVICE?
You can easily access your Cameron email on your mobile device (smart phone, tablet, IPad, etc…) by downloading the free Gmail app.
