Course Placement Testing (CPT)
As part of Aggie Enrollment Day, students who have scored below a 19 on the ACT in English, Reading, or Math will be retested to determine appropriate course placement. Accurate course placement is important for academic success and can save a student time and money by clearing the need for remedial courses. Students are encouraged to prepare for retesting by viewing this slide presentation and by visiting the Cameron University Testing Center website.
The Testing Center is located on the 5th floor of North Shepler. Please bring a government issued photo I.D. the day of the testing.
Entering Student Assessment
This questionnaire is required component of Aggie Enrollment Day. It is a non-cognitive assessment of individual, entering students.
This will take place in our Testing Center in North Shepler on the 5th floor.
Student Advisement Session
Arrive for your scheduled appointment in the Academic Advising Center 10-15 minutes early to check in.
The Academic Advising Center is located on the first floor of North Shepler.
During your advisement session, your advisor will go over important information related to being a student at Cameron, visit with you about your educational goals and work with you to select and enroll in courses for your first semester.
New Aggie Parent Session
Parents and family members are welcome to attend Aggie Enrollment Day with their student. In fact, we have a program specifically designed for parents and family members.
The New Aggie Parent Lounge is staffed with CU representatives to provide parents with valuable resources for helping support students as they transition to college life and to answer any questions. In addition, a financial aid representative will also be available to answer financial aid and scholarship related questions.
Family members will not be with students during the enrollment appointment. Your student's independence during the initial advising appointment is extremely important to his or her collegiate experience. Consider looking at the online class schedule with your student prior to the appointment.
We also strongly encourage you to discuss the schedule with your student after the enrollment and advising appointment. If, following the enrollment appointment, the family and student discuss the class schedule and want to make changes, the student may simply contact the Academic Advising Center and they will assist with making schedule changes.
