Eighteen graduating seniors from Cameron University's Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program were commissioned as Second Lieutenants during a ceremony held at the McCasland Ballroom on May 11. Cameron’s graduates competed against more than 4,000 cadets nationwide for branch choices and selection for active service Army. A centralized selection board at the Department of the Army considers several factors in making branch assignments, including Army needs, each cadet's field of study and overall scholastic performance. All but two of this year’s graduates earned their first choice of branch assignments.
