Hold on to your hats.
Youngbloodz has dropped another dance floor,
anthem-packed record entitled Drankin Patnaz.
From exciting electric club beats to acoustic
riffs, this CD is platinum-bound. Produced
by the Youngbloodz and Mark Twain Productions,
this follow-up album is a hip-hop hard hitter.
Feeding off successful
videos for their songs “Cadillac Pimpin”
and “Damn!,” featuring Lil Jon,
the aisle in which their CD is found needs
new carpet because of the heavy traffic
the album has created. The CD, containing
16 tracks, also includes a limited edition
bonus DVD with interviews and a video compilation.
Beware – you must be 18 to purchase
this CD due to strong language, sexual content
and violent content. Have your mother buy
it, but do not allow her to hear it.
The Youngbloodz are
a part of the Atlanta movement to take over
the rap industry. Under the Atlanta-based
label So-So-Def, with the strong support
of mogul Jermaine Dupri, these youngsters
are doing grown-up things. They must not
be too young; drinking the way they claim
to would require a weathered liver. I guess
as long as they do it with their patnaz
it isn’t a problem. Atlanta rap has
been spreading like a virus for the last
few years, and the Youngbloodz have definitely
paid their dues.
Being the lover of
all types of music that I am, I began their
CD while sitting attentively on the corner
of my bed. By the end of the second song,
I was embarrassed by the ridiculous dance
I was doing. My dogs were dancing by the
sixth song. My mother made me turn it down
by the eighth. Then I watched the DVD, entertaining
and insightful, yet for some odd reason
it was edited for content.
I give this CD two
very enthusiastic feet cutting a rug.
