CERTIFICATE of ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The Office of Graduate Studies in concert with the School of Business and the Center for Emerging Technologies and Entrepreneurial Studies offers the academic requirements for a certification in entrepreneurship. The goal of the Certificate in Entrepreneurship is to provide a foundational knowledge base required for successful entrepreneurship and to prepare students for further graduate studies. The objectives for the Certificate in Entrepreneurship are to provide a common body of knowledge necessary for entrepreneurial success; global entrepreneurial competition; legal issues and enterprise structures pertinent to new venture creation; and for successful electronic commerce.
The Certificate in Entrepreneurship shall consist of 12 hours of graduate credit. Upon completion, students will be permitted to apply all of the credit associated with the certificate toward Cameron's existing Master of Business Administration degree or to Cameron University's new Master of Science in Entrepreneurial Studies degree program.
Academic Requirements
Students in the Certificate in Entrepreneurship program must participate in Cameron's comprehensive outcomes assessment program that consists of entry-level placement, program outcomes assessment, and student satisfaction assessment. Participation in the assessment activities is required as a condition of enrollment and graduation. Students in the Certificate in Entrepreneurship will be required to successfully pass a comprehensive case study before the Certificate will be awarded.
Also as part of the outcomes assessment process, students must complete an exit interview. These interviews, which are conducted online, allow students to identify what they perceive as the strength and weakness associated with the program. Administrators and graduate faculty use this information to effect programmatic improvements.
Students must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above to be awarded the Certificate.
Courses
The Certificate in Entrepreneurship shall consist of 12 hours of graduate credit offered on a rotational schedule resulting in the entire curriculum being offered every two semesters.
