Centennial Commission member Maj. Gen. (R) David C. Ralston retired as the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Field Artillery Center and Fort Sill, and the Commandant of the U.S. Army Field Artillery School. Since retiring from the military, Ralston co-founded TDRS LLC, a company that provides consultancy services to defense contractors in order to address the growing mission of Fort Sill. Originally from Madison, South Dakota, Ralston graduated from Weber State University and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1975. Ralston furthered his education by earning a master in personnel management and administration from Central Michigan University. Ralston's military career has taken him to more than a dozen stations around the world, including Washington D.C., Texas, Boston, Germany, Kosovo, the Netherlands and Fort Sill. Among his many leadership positions, Ralston has served as commander of the 3rd Battalion, 1St Field Artillery, 3 Infantry Division in Germany; commander of the 1st Calvary Division Artillery; Chief of Staff at Fort Sill; Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, Kosovo Force; Deputy Commanding General and Assistant Commandant of the Field Artillery School at Fort Sill. Ralston has received many awards and decorations during more than 30 years of military service, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, the Army Meritorious Service Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster. |
