February 6, 2014 Luncheon
Cameron University School of Business hosts a live broadcast of the Oklahoma Business Ethics Consortium (OK Ethics) monthly forum. The February luncheon features #1 New York Times best-selling author and inspirational speaker, Michael Hingson, speaking on "Trust, Teamwork & Thunderdog's Triumph".
“Promoting Oklahoma values of integrity at work is the intent behind the OK Ethics’ monthly business forums,” says Shannon Warren, founder of the Oklahoma Business Ethics Consortium. “We typically have an average of 350 attendees at our Oklahoma City luncheons and we are pleased to provide the same experience to the Lawton Fort Sill community via live stream.”
Michael, blind since birth, survived the 9/11 terrorist attacks with the help of his guide dog, Roselle. This story of trust, teamwork and his indomitable will to live and thrive is the subject of his best-selling book, Thunder Dog. He explores the broader lessons of his life and experiences as a blind person in today's world and shares these lessons to educate, inspire and empower audiences world-wide.
He has a master's degree in physics from University of California Irvine and is an accomplished technologist. He is Ambassador for the National Braille Literacy Campaign and also serves as Ambassador for the American Humane Association's Hero Dog Awards. He has appeared on Larry King five times, and other major national broadcasts such as the Today Show, Fox and Friends, the 700 Club, Joy Behar, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and the Hallmark Channel.
“The OK Ethics live stream provides Southwest Oklahoma access to teaching from nationally known leaders in business ethics and is an outstanding networking opportunity,” says John Camey, Dean of the Cameron University School of Business.
