FOOD SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY CAREER DEVELOPMENT EVENT APRIL 11, 2012
All contestants and sponsors should assemble promptly at 8:00 A.M. at the CU FOOTBALL STADIUM, entrance located on
38th Street where additional instructions will be given.
The Food Science CDE is designed to stimulate learning activities in food science and technology related to the food industry.
The contest will consist of:
1. Each participant will be asked to identify 10 aromas from vials provided at each station and record the answer on the sheet provided.
2. Each participant will conduct the triangle test on 2 samples. Participants are expected to identify the different sample through aroma, visual cues, or texture differences.
3. 40 question multiple question test. The resource for the test will be unit one of the Food Science and Technology curriculum – CIMC.
One team of three or four (3-4) members and up to four (4) additional individuals may participate with the three (3) highest scores of the designated team used for the team score.
